Hi! I'm Amy. I'm in the business of storytelling.
One day we'll sit down over coffee and discuss how I came from living in a small town of 10,000 in the Deep South, to living in the the oldest city in the Western Hemisphere, Cusco, Peru. But that's a story for another time.
I'm a former journalist who's reported live from a NASA shuttle launch and been published on ABCNews.com; I'm an avid traveler/hippie who once lived in an RV with my dad and sister for three months as we road-tripped from Florida to Washington state; I've worked as a marketing assistant at a fast-growing education startup; and I also dabble in songwriting. Every step along this journey has been crucial in teaching me what I really love to do: write.
Whether you're a hobbyist painter looking for someone to help you start a blog documenting your work, or you're a business owner looking for someone to write product descriptions for your website, I can work with you to deliver a product you love.
Your business will be defined by the stories it tells, whether that’s through a blog post, a home page, or an email newsletter. Are you telling your story in a compelling way? A way that draws new users? A way that drives sales?
Let’s work together.
Oh, but before we begin, I should tell you I'm a perfectionist--so don't be alarmed when I stop at nothing to make my work excellent.
Don't believe me?

Why hire a copywriter anyway?
Save money
By having a freelance writer do contract work, you don't have to hire a full-time employee. This means you don't have to offer vacation days and other benefits, or clear out a space for an office or desk for a new hire (which is totally fine with me, as I prefer working from my couch, and I can take care of my own vacation days).
Save time
Think of me not only as a copywriter, but a specialist. You're hiring me for my expertise in writing. Could you write an email newsletter yourself? Probably! Would you enjoy the task, would it have high ROI, and would it be the best use of your time? Probably not. Hire a writer to take care of all your writing needs, so you can focus on running your business.
Make more money
Ah, the beauty of copywriting. Copywriting is writing that sells. Whenever you're thinking about investing money into any sort of copywriting project--an email campaign, home page text, product descriptions--think about the return on your investment. Let's take your business website's home page for example. A lot of times, this is a visitor's first impression of you and your business. After seeing that, are they going to consider buying what you're selling? Heck, do they even understand what you're selling? If not, you're missing out on countless opportunities to make money. By hiring a copywriter to write for your website, in the long run, you'll earn back MUCH more than the initial cost.
If you're not into saving money, saving time, and making more money, then, by all means, don't hire a copywriter. Otherwise, contact me. :)

Case Studies and Testimonials (AKA "Proof I Do Awesome Work")
I know, I know. You want proof. You're a smart buyer! So here's what just a couple of my clients have to say.
Client: Torpedo Sushi
Industry: Restaurant
Problem: Luis came to me a couple weeks before launching the website for his new sushi restaurant. He had a few lines written down--but he couldn't get it just right. He wanted to convey Torpedo Sushi's unique, edgy, and humorous voice, without sounding corny or fake.
Solution: I came up with some edgy and informational copy for his Home Page and About Page, and I wrote a quirky two-liner for his Contact Page. I also helped to strengthen his restaurant's branding. By weaving words throughout the copy that connote torpedo imagery, I was able to reinforce the concept of the Torpedo sushi roll, without being too over-the-top.

Client: Bright Dog
Industry: Dog training
Problem: Alex was working with a web developer for his new website for online dog training videos. He had written some video descriptions, but he knew they could be a lot better. The videos are the main product offering for Bright Dog, and Alex knew coming up with catchy, appealing descriptions was key to getting customers to buy.
Solution: I refined his current descriptions and added some more lines to better communicate the value behind each dog training video. By identifying his target audience and their pain points, I was able to better convey why they would want to buy each video.
